Biennial Re-Organization – a message from the Chair

On December 17, 2020, in a Zoom meeting, the 23^rd Legislative District (LD) will gather online to vote in a new slate of officers for the Executive Board (E-Board). These positions are: chair, vice-chair, treasurer, deputy treasurer and two state committee members. Formal descriptions of the positions can be found in the 23^rd LD bylaws which can be found on the 23^rd LD website under “About – 23^rd LD Board” then scroll to the bottom.

The balance of the board will be elected at the January 28, 2021 LD meeting. They will represent the four geographic areas of the school districts (Bainbridge Island, Bremerton, Central Kitsap, North Kitsap) and the other four will be at-large positions. All of the E-Board positions serve for two years.

Any current paid member of the 23^rd LD may run for the E-Board. In December, only those elected precinct committee officers (PCOs) – either in the primary (no opponent) or general election – are eligible to vote for the officers. All members (dues paid) can vote for the rest of the board positions at the January 28 meeting. A simple majority is all that is required for election.
