23rd LD Democrats Executive Board Candidate Forum - Sunday, December 13, 2020 1:00 -2:30 pm Webinar on Zoom.
This year, LD23 Precinct Committee Officers are sponsoring an opportunity for our candidates to shine and are inviting them and our LD23 Democratic residents to participate in a Candidate Forum. Join us to meet our candidates and learn more about all they bring to our local leadership.
We have prepared three questions that will be asked of each participating candidate. In addition they will each have a few minutes to tell us about themselves. Their pre- submitted statements will also be posted on our website from the eve of Dec. 12 - Dec. 17th will have ample time to review prior to the Dec. 17th vote.
The candidate filing deadline is Sat. December 12th at Noon. Interested candidates can find filing guidelines on our website, outlined by Chair, Val Torrens. Candidate declarations should also be emailed to both the Chair, Val Torrens- chair@kitsap23rd.com and Secretary, Erin Phillips- erin.n.phillips@icloud.com .
Each candidate will be emailed the three questions the evening of Dec. 12th.
Only Precinct Committee Officers will vote for the E-Board officers at our Dec.17th election. But everyone will benefit from learning more about our candidates. This is the first time our LD has offered such an event and it’s our hope it contributes to elevating an interest in the importance of our vote for the Executive Board & PCO leadership. Our further intent is that it works toward including, informing , and inviting our residents to check out our local Democratic Party and meet your Precinct Committee Officer. We want to also learn more about what is most important to you and your family.
We will split 80 minutes between our participating candidates. Each candidate will be allocated 8 minutes; 2 for personal statement, 2 min. for each of three round robin questions. We will end with each candidate providing their contact information for additional questions our community may have. The forum will be moderated and timed by trained individuals and will be recorded.
